As from today, the young ones who do not know the voice and art of the soprano Maria Callas have the opportunity to listen to her voice, just to have an idea of the extraordinary artistic capacities of this lady of belcanto,
considered the most extraordinary voice of 1900
by the public and critics. For this new site of mine, I have chosen only a few but significant pieces to make the polyhedral nature of her singing noted. Maria bent her vocal organ to her will in order to interpret roles for any type of female vocality, passing from the repertoire of coloratura to that of lyric, lyric spinto and dramatic soprano with an extension of well three octaves.
She brought to light operas like "Turco in Italia", "Armida", "Fidelio", "Ratto del Serraglio", "Anna Bolena", "Medea" etc.
The "dramatic soprano of agility" of 1800 came back to the fore because of her. In this small homage, it is impossible to describe all her vocal and artistic qualities. Only through listening in-depth to the recording documentation she left behind, one is able to understand what an extraordinary and unique artist she was.
